Ingredients:
- Broken Matta rice 1cup soaked
- Chicken breast - 1cup(chopped)
- Onion - 1 medium
- Green chilly -3
- Ginger - 1 inch piece
- Garlic- 5
- Curry leaves - 1 spring
- Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup chopped for garnish
- Fenugreek seeds - 1 tsp
- Garam masala pwd- 1/2 tsp
To grind:
- Coconut grated 1 cup
- small onion 2 or 3 pods
- Coriander pwd 1 tsp
- Fennel pwd 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric pwd 1/ 2 tsp
- Pepper powder 1/4 tsp
- Wash and soak for 2 hrs:
Method:
To Grind All the ingredients and keep aside.
Add the soaked rice and fenugreek seeds to a pressure cooker with 3 inches of water above the level of it.
Add salt to taste and cook for some whistle.
Reduce the flame and cook for further 10minutes. Keep aside. Open and mash with the back of a spoon. If not cooked till soft add more water and cook for further 5 minutes.
Heat oil in another pressure cooker.
Add the chopped onions,ginger garlic, green chilly and curry leaves.
Saute until its soft and gives a nice aroma.
Add in the clean chicken pieces and cup of water.
Add salt to taste.
Cook until the first whistle from the cooker.
Open the lid after the pressure releases.
Mash the rice and add it to the chicken gravy.
Add more water and grinded paste to get the right consistency.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
